Crossing the Water
The last two years with the threat of the unknown, the danger to even be close to another human, speak to them in person, shake their hand created a global social freeze that immobilized us. We have been waiting for “it” to be over, but it continues and grows. When neither fight nor flight seems like an option, we freeze to face the unimaginable. Confronted with this hopelessness, we need to take the not so obvious next step. As we manage to act, we realize that our path is right there in front of us, that we need to take the next step laughing, dancing, jumping, skipping. The secret is to cross the water and keep your feet dry. Water striders have taken this to perfection and while we humans are too clumsy and too heavy to copy their strategy of benefiting from the surface tension of water, we can still benefit from the concept.

Here’s an exercise: Think about a situation, an issue you are currently confronted with and explore how to can get to “the other side of it” skipping and laughing and exploring it from a different perspective.
